Fledgling Presentation
This presentation introduces students to birds in general and to birds of prey. An interactive song is also presented.

SCHOOL DAYCARE PROGRAM
Legends Activity (Mixed grade levels)
Geared to groups with mixed grade levels, the educator presents the world of birds of prey through the narration of two legends. (1 to 60 participants)
Duration : 45 to 60 min.
REMINDER:
The educator adjusts the content and delivery of the presentation according to the level of each group and to the objectives of the Ministry of Education (MELS) to help foster competencies.
A bird of prey specialist, often a falconer, delivers the interactive presentation.
All our falconers are university graduates within the environmental and wildlife biology domain.
Pedagogical material is used to illustrate biological concepts and other notions (predator-prey relationships, adaptations, characteristics..)
Falcon-Ed presentations are recognized by the subsidized Quebec government program Culture à l’école.
A minimum of two (2) live birds are shown in class during each visit:
- a nocturnal raptor (owl)
- a diurnal raptor (hawk or falcon)
Requests for specific raptor species are welcome.

Special prices are offered when reserving one or more additional presentations each day.
Prices subject to change without notice.
Maximum 30 students per group, a charge of 3$ for the Fledgling, Exploration and Discovery presentations, and of 4$ for the Scientific-Workshops and Ecology Seminar, per additional participant apply.
Transport fees of 0.66$/km*, leaving from St-Lazare (QC) or Trenton (ON) also apply; 50$ minimum charge.
*Additional travel fees will be applied to destinations greater than 150km from our round trip from our offices.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CYCLE I
Exploration Presentation (Elementary 1st & 2nd Grade)
This presentation introduces students to birds of prey, their characteristics and the differences between nocturnal and diurnal raptors.
Durée : 45 minutes
CYCLE II and III
Discovery Presentation (Elementary 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Grade)
This presentation introduces students to birds of prey, their characteristics, the role they play in the environment and the differences between nocturnal and diurnal
Duration : 60 min.
Scientific Workshops (Elementary 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Grade-Quebec only)
Our most popular activity! During the first hour, students are introduced to birds of prey, their characteristics, the role they play in the environment and the differences between nocturnal and diurnal raptors. In the second hour, the class or group is separated into seven (7) teams. Each team completes one (1) themed workshop. When finished, teams present and discuss their findings with the rest of the class.
Duration : 2 hours
Workshop themes:
1. Feathers : Identification of bird of prey feathers
2. Talons : Identification of bird feet, including talons
3. Calls : Identification of bird of prey calls
4. Fledglings : Matching parents with young birds of prey
5. Silhouettes : Identification of bird of prey silhouettes
6. Dissection : Dissection of a raptor pellet
7. Nests : Identification of bird of prey nests

FREE-FLIGHT SHOW (Schools)
Consists of an outdoor or indoor show, featuring the free-flight of several species of birds of prey from Canada and abroad. It is addressed to all grade levels and to an unlimited number of students. Offered from mid-September to mid-November, and mid-May till the first week of June, shows must be reserved a minimum of 4 weeks in advance.
We can supply our own microphone and audio-speaker system.
Duration : 45 min., maximum of 3 shows/day

Ecology Seminar
This multimedia seminar presents the physiology, biology and environmental role of birds of prey. Concepts such as bioaccumulation, biodiversity and predator-prey relationships are discussed. We can provide our own projector.
